Integrated Test Complex

  • Various test and evaluation facilities are interlinked namely:
    •   System Design and Evaluation Facility(SDEF)
    •   MMR Test Rig
    •   Weapon Integration Rig
    •   OAC Rig
    •   Iron Bird
    •   Static Rig,etc

  • Provides realistic environment  for :
    • Avionics and weapon delivery missions.
    • Simulation of stores/weapons,use of actual or simulated  LRUs/Sensors
    • High fidelity cockpit ( part of SDEF) helps in design  and evaluation of PVI      issues like :ergonomics, warning
    • philosophy, weapon aiming and deployment cues, and assessment of pilot workloads.
    • Flight operating procedures practice for different profiles  of flight and weapon delivery.

CEF Rigs:

Cockpit Environment Facility is a fixed Base Facility, which will cater to a single seater fighter (Navy) configurations. It also caters to the new generation cockpit for LCA Air force from PV2 (Proto Vehicle – 2 ) and beyond. This facility consists of one to one size cockpit shell with canopy bubble, windscreen and nose cone. The cockpit control switches, indicators, displays and standby instrumentation will be mounted exactly as per the aircraft cockpit design.

The aircraft sub-systems, namely engine, fuel system, electrical system, hydraulic system, nose wheel steering, environment control system, etc, are simulated.  Outside the window imagery is simulated,

generated and projected. In other words, the functionality of actual LCA aircraft is simulated

MMR Rigs

  • MMR tests on ground with planned sorties of aircrafts.
  • To support MMR – Hack trials.
  • Test facility for trouble-shooting/fault diagnosis and rectification up to cassette/module level.
  • Provision to create and investigate fault reported during flight.
  • Testing of MMR LRUs on ground after fault rectification before resumption of Hack trial.
  • MMR flight data analysis (off-line).
  • To support MMR flight trials on LCA.
