Objectives

The integrated flight control system (IFCS) directorate, HAL AR&DC and ADE are at the heart of Integrated Flight Control System (IFCS) design, development and testing for the LCA.  The group is primarily responsible for FCS requirement analysis, specifications generations, design, development and testing leading to type-certification of IFCS.

Furthermore, the  activities include the indigenous development of actuators , sensors, digital flight control computer, ground support equipment among others for the LCA.

Tasks

Generation of IFCS requirements comprising of Flight Mechanics, Digital Flight Control System, cockpit controls / indicators and interfaces with the rest of aircraft systems.

Definitions of work packages, identification of work centers responsible for design, development, integration and testing , project sanction, monitoring  and management

Indigenous development of LCA primary and secondary actuators

Indigenous development of Digital Flight Control  Computer (DFCC), Rate Sensor Assembly (RSA) , Accelerometer Sensor Assembly (ASA), Air data (pitot-static) probes , Angle-of-Attack) (AOA) vanes, Deicing Current Monitor (DCM) , Air Data Transducers (ADT), Flight Control Panel (FCP) , Flight Test Panel (FTP), Pilot Control Stick Assembly (PCSA) and Rudder Pedal Assembly (RPA)

Design, development, and integration of ADA Flight Dynamics Simulator (ADA-FDS) with LCA Iron Bird

Upgrading of ADA Hardware-in-loop-simulation (HILS)

LCA IFCS integration and testing on Iron bird

LCA IFCS integration and testing on aircraft

Flight testing support and analysis of the results.

Modeling and Simulation of aircraft hydraulic systems.

Initiate technology development projects like high  (AOA) control law design, control law design with non-linear models , Thrust Vector Control (TVC) etc.

Design, analysis, modeling and simulation  of alternate control law for LCA brake management system
