CADTRANS - CAD geometry TRANSfer

CADTRANS is a software for generating a neutral file for the purpose of transferring geometric data between CAD systems.  It is available as an interface to CATIA, CADDS4X/CADDS5 and in-house developed GITA.  CADTRANS is a bi-directional translator.  It has a pre and post processor.  The preprocessor extracts the data from the DAD system and writes the same into the neutral file.  The post processor reads the neutal file data and creates the geometric model in other CAD systems.

Attributes such as LAYERS, COLORS and LINETYPES are also transferred.  CADTRANS has a very tight data transfer integration between CATIA and in-house developed CAD package called GITA.
ADA has the capability to customise the user requirements to write translators to any CAD system or to any other applications if required .CADTRANS  can be used to transfer geometric data between CAD systems and also to transfer geometric data to other applications such as Finite Element Analysis Modeller, Virtual Reality applications among others.
