The Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), India's state-of-the-art multirole supersonic aircraft is among the best in the world in its class. The LCA programme, primarily aimed at development of an advanced fighter for the Indian Air Force, started with building necessary infrastructure and technologies for the fourth generation aircraft.

On Technology Day, two  LCA Technology Demonstrators - TD1, TD2 & one Prototype vehicle - PV1 -  all three flew in delta formation.  With a significant indigenous content in LCA, every successful test flight is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of designers and scientists from R&D organisations and aircraft industry who have built a fourth generation aircraft after a gap of 25 years since India built a second generation fighter, HF-24, Marut.
