ADA Scientist Dr. M. Nandanan, Group Director (Advanced Aerodynamics Design) Died in a Road Accident.

Dr. M. Nandanan, Scientist-G, Group Director of Advanced Aerodynamic Design at the ADA dies in a road accident at Indiranagar on January 6, 2002. He was 55 and is survived by his wife and daughter. The last rites have been performed on 9-JAN-2002 at his family home near Varkala in Kerala on Wednesday.

ADA has remembered his services and contribution to the LCA Programme in a condolence meeting held yesterday (9-JAN-2002) at ADA. Mr. P. Rajkumar, Director, ADA expressed his deep condolence to the aggrieved family. He has expressed how a man with human touch with smiling face has left the ADA Community in deep distress followed by his sudden demise.

Dr. Nandanan's contribution in the field of Aerodynamics, his various achievements, his unique contribution to AeroFoil design and his jovial association with all friends. His deep understanding about the LCA Programme has given a boost to the programme and also helped his colleques - Dr. T.G. Pai, Project Director (Technology Developement) said in a condolence meeting.

All employees of ADA has observed 2 minutes silence as a mark of respect to Dr. N. Nandanan.

Pragna Puraskar to Dr. Kota Harinarayana

Dr. Kota Harinarayana, Programme Director of ADA, and a Distinguished Scientist, being honoured with Pragna Puraskar by the Defence Minister Mr. George Fernandes, in Hyderabad on 1-DEC-2001. The Union Minister for Rural Development Mr. Venkaiah Naidu was also present on the occasion.

DRDO Chief Dr. VK. Aatre Receives Award

DRDO Director General, SA to RM Dr. V.K. Aatre, under whose leadership the country's first indigeneous ship-to-ship missile Dhanush was tested two months ago, was on Tuesday presented the prestigious                         "Dr. Y. Nayudamma Memorial award'  for the year 2000 for his contribution to defence research. 

Lifting of curbs may not benefit LCA Programme - Dr. Kota

The country's Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) project may not benefit now from the lifiting of the US sanctions on India,Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) Director Kota Harinarayana said on Tuesday. Most of the work is already over and withdrawal of sanctions will not especially benefit the project now. 

The only apparent  benefit would be that "our  systems, software and other equipment which is lying unused in the US would be brought back to India  at the earliest." The LCA already had 70% of Indigenous element and this would only be increased with more efforts over time despite lifting of the sanctions by the US,  he said.

The sanctions only delayed the project but didn't pose any further serious effects to the LCA project, he added.

Three ADA Scientists Awarded by IETE

A team of Aeronautical Development Agency(ADA) Scientists has bagged IETE Flt, Lt. Tanmaya Singh Dandass Memorial Award, instituted by the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, according to a press release issued by the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers.

Mr. R. Srinivasa Rao, Mr. M.P.Reddy and Mr. Ajai Vohra of ADA were selected for their contribution in avionics. The scientists are working on the LCA's avionics system.
